Most commonly found from the 1950s-60s, baseball card salesman samples
were uncut panels of cards with advertising pasted to the back and
sometimes to the front. The card company salesman used the samples to
promote the upcoming cards to stores. The three card panel here is a 1966 Topps salesman
sample, featuring Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax. The eight card panel is
from 1966 and includes cards of Ernnie Banks and Al Kaline. Other than the
pasted on advertising, the samples are identical to the regular uncard cards.
