Stamps and Other Identifying Markers

Stamping, paper tags and writing help the collector judge the source, age and authenticty of a photograph. The left image shows the back of an expensive original 1942 Vogue magazine photograph. The stamping substantiates this. Conde Naste was Vogue's publisher. It also shows that the photograph was shot by the famed fashion photographer Horst P. Horst.
